GoreNet is a network of young Americans dedicated to electing Al Gore President of the United States. Karenna Gore Schiff, the eldest daughter of Al and Tipper Gore, serves as national chair and represents the Gore 2000 campaign at events throughout the country. GoreNet receptions have been held in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Chicago.
Initially focused on raising campaign funds through low-dollar events, GoreNet has expanded to become an effective vehicle for getting young people involved in all aspects of the Gore 2000 campaign through both the Internet and grassroots participation. From the field and political operations to policy development and fundraising, Al Gore feels strongly that young people should play an integral role in his campaign. GoreNet is also focused on raising voter turnout among young people.
GoreNet members have met with the campaign’s top policy advisors and were well represented among volunteers from throughout the country who traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire to campaign with on behalf of Al Gore.
